TMJ, Trigeminal Neuralgia

My pain surfaced 5 years ago when I was diagnosed with TMJ, which in my case was stress induced. Like many people I have a stressful job and when under stress I tend to clinch my jaw. After going to my Dentist, Orthodontist, TMJ Specialist, wearing mouth guards and taking prescribed pain medicine the pain was temporarily relieved.

But this past summer I experienced a different type of pain, and it was no longer only in my jaw area it was on the entire left side of my face and it was pain I had never experienced before. The first person I called was my TMJ Specialist and in so many words he told me that he could not help me anymore, and referred me to a Neurologist.

The Neurologist diagnosed me with Trigeminal Neuralgia and sent me off with a bag full of anti-seizure medicine samples and prescriptions for pain. I left feeling as though there had to be a better answer to this pain than medicine.

I started searching the internet under Trigeminal Neuralgia pain relief and I found a website that mentioned how a NUCCA Chiropractor can help with relieving TN pain. At this point I didn't have anything to lose but pain, and I was determined to stop taking the anti-seizure medicine.

I found a NUCCA doctor on the internet and immediately called for an appointment. I had been to a Chiropractor once before but this was not a typical Chiropractor so I did not know what to expect. After 4 months I can truly say that I no longer have to take any medications and my pain is gone.
